Cricket Australia (CA) is going through a bit of turmoil at the moment. David Warner has withdrawn his appeal of turning the lifetime captaincy ban by stating that CA wanted to do a public hearing. During the 2018 Sandpaper gate; Smith & Warner was banned for 12 months whereas Bancroft was for 9 months.

David Warner’s manager recently made a huge claim that ball tampering was a regular practice in the team till 2018. The manager shared an incident of the 2016 Test Series against South Africa where two executives had come into changing room and were quite furious about the loss where they wanted Australia to win at any cost.

“This indicated Warner – who had been advised by CA against a public outburst – didn’t trust the authorities to be mindful of his interests. It was a wise decision by Warner as CAabouts renowned for only protecting their own interests, not those of players,” he added.

Ian Chappell on David Warner’s Captaincy

The former Australian Captain made a shocking claim about David Warner. “I doubt Warner was expecting to gain a leadership position in the Australia set-up even with a successful review of the ban he received after the ball-tampering debacle in South Africa in 2018,” stated Ian Chappell.

“He’s too old to be considered for a captaincy position in the Australian regime despite the fact that he has always had great leadership instincts,” he added.
