The universe boss Chris Gayle, one of the most premier T20 players, will be returning to St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise for the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021), which starts next month.

St. Kitts and Nevis will also be hosting the ninth season of the Caribbean Premier League which begins from August 28 and will run its course on September 19. All the 33 matches of the CPL 2021 tournament will be played at the Warner Park ground.

Last year, the entire CPL 2020 was hosted by Trinidad & Tobago, thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots had retained just 9 players before the CPL 2021 player draft. SKT Patriots had retained players like Evin Lewis, Fabian Allen, Sherfane Rutherford, Sheldon Cottrell, Rayad Emrit, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Dominic Drakes, and Joshua Da Silva. They traded in Dwayne Bravo from Trinbago Knight Riders.

Emrit will be captaining the franchise in CPL 2021, which released the likes of Chris Lynn, Kieran Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Ben Dunk, Sohail Tanvir, Ish Sodhi, and many more.

However, they have gone for Chris Gayle, who is regarded as the Bradman of T20 cricket, in the player draft. Chris Gayle has played 424 T20 matches this far and has a record 13898 runs at an average of 37.86 with a strike rate of 146.41. He has hit 22 centuries and 86 half-centuries with his highest score of 175*.

Gayle has also hit 1073 fours and 1017 sixes in his T20 career as well.

Sandeep Lamichhane Joins Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) Ahead Of The CPL 2021

Meanwhile, in other signings, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane will be turning out for defending Caribbean Premier League (CPL) champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) ahead of the CPL 2021. He had played for Jamaica Tallawahs last season and will now strengthen the TKR franchise’s spin department with Sunil Narine.
