West Indian fast bowler Alzarri Joseph had a heated conversation with the umpire during the 12th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024).

Alzarri Joseph, playing for the Saint Lucia Kings, was not happy with the decision from the on-field umpire during the Trinbago Knight Riders' innings.

The Trinbago Knight Riders opted to field first after winning the toss in St. Lucia on September 10 (local time).

Openers Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles provided a decent start as the team scored 40 runs in four overs. However, they lost wickets in quick succession and lost momentum in the match.

Roston Chase and Bhanuka Rajapaksa added a crucial 80-run partnership off 58 balls for the fourth wicket.

Chase was the top scorer for the Kings with an unbeaten 56 off 40 balls, including three sixes and two fours. Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil each took two wickets to restrict the Kings to 187-6.

In reply, the Knight Riders lost the wicket of Sunil Narine in the second over. However, they quickly gained momentum with explosive batting from Jason Roy and Shaqkere Parris.

Joseph came in to bowl the fourth over of the second innings and conceded 15 runs in his first over of the match.

Alzarri Joseph struggled with control during the over and gave away five runs from a wide.

The right-arm fast bowler tried to test Shaqkere Parris with a bouncer, but it went over Parris's head and past the wicketkeeper. 5 runs were added to the opposition's total as the ball ran to the boundary.

Alzarri Joseph was visibly frustrated with the decision and was seen questioning the umpire animatedly as he walked back to his mark. His frustration continued even after the over ended.

The Knight Riders successfully chased the target with five balls to spare. Shaqkere Parris scored 57 runs off 33 balls, including six sixes and one four.

Kieron Pollard finished with an unbeaten 52 from just 19 balls with seven sixes. For the Kings, Noor Ahmad and Matthew Forde each took two wickets.

Was A Good Game Of Cricket - Faf du Plessis

Saint Lucia Kings skipper Faf du Plessis said that they made a fightback after conceding more than 70 runs in the powerplay. Du Plessis praised the team for making some great catches and executing well.

"Was a good game of cricket, quality powerplays. Would’ve taken 190. We went for 70 in the powerplay but had unbelievable fightback to stay in the contest. We probably went for too many sixes," said Faf du Plessis.

"St. Kitts is probably the most challenging venue with dark skies and bright lights but I think we took some great catches. Did a lot of things right. Small margins against big teams is what it comes down to at the end of the day," he added.
