Cricket Australia (CA) chief Nick Hockley has revealed that the board will review the idea of having different head coaches for different formats of the game.

Currently, Justin Langer is the head coach of the Australian team and he is already signalled for his intentions to continue in the role. Hockley, however, hasn’t confirmed Langer’s contract extension as of yet.

That’s (different coaches for different formats) something we’ll look at towards the end of the season. There’s no question Justin will see out his contract. That goes out to the middle of next year.

Obviously, once we get through the Ashes we want to sit down and work out where we want to go from there. We’re going to sit down and work through what that process entails at that time, then we’ll be able to say more,” Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hockley as saying.

Hockley has also stated that the board has sought assistance from Victoria Police following the leak of confidential reports. The news of the leak was reported by The Age on Sunday who stated that a woman alleged a player was using cocaine and dancing naked on the balcony.

I saw the article this morning. Those reports are unsubstantiated. They are historical. Any stealing of confidential information is a crime. We have reported it and are getting assistance from Vic Police.

It’s really important people are able to contact our integrity line in full confidence that it is going to be kept secure. Certainly our processes, we review them regularly, to ensure they are absolutely best practice,” Hockley mentioned to reporters.

The recording had been sent to the paper through an encrypted mail service from an anonymous address, the Melbourne Daily reported.
