Fans on Twitter reacted after India National Cricket Team batter Sanju Samson bagged a golden duck in the ongoing second T20I against Sri Lanka National Cricket. The game between the teams is underway at the Pallekele International Stadium in Pallekele.
India National Cricket Team has been set a revised target of 78 runs due to rain. Sanju Samson, who got an opportunity to play in the second game, came out to open along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and it was expected that he would cash on the platform and help his team win the game and take a lead.
However, this wasn't the case as Sanju Samson bagged a golden duck while opening the innings. The keeper-batter perished to Maheesh Theekshana on the first ball of the second over. He looked clueless to the fiery ball by spinner and had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
Maheesh Theekshana bowled a carrom ball which instead of being straight drifted in. Sanju Samson didn't move his feet as he tried to defend the ball. It left a massive gap between the bat and pad as the ball sneaked through to hit the middle stump.
Sanju Samson's horrible run in the T20Is against spin bowling continued. The keeper-batter has scored 156 runs in 132 balls and has gotten to slow bowlers 10 times. His average of 15.6 and a strike rate of 118.2 speaks a lot about his struggles with the bat.
There were a lot of chatters around when Sanju Samson wasn't named in the Indian XI for the last match. However, the keeper-batter had a golden opportunity to make his case strong, but things now have turned worse for him, and it is now likely that he will be dropped when Shubman Gill returns.
