Australian cricketer David Warner's wife Candice Warner shared her thoughts on Ishan Kishan's spat with the umpire during the first match between India A and Australia A. Candice Warner reacted strongly to the issue by stating that many umpires are keen to be involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The India A team, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, landed in a spot of bother when the on-field umpires decided to change the ball on the final day of the first unofficial Test against Australia A in Mackay, citing damage to the ball. This led to questions about potential tampering by Indian players on the fourth day.
Ishan Kishan Involved in a Heated Argument with On-Field Umpire
An on-field spat took place when umpire Shawn Craig decided to change the ball, citing "deterioration." This decision angered Ishan Kishan, who called it a "very stupid decision." Craig informed the Indian players about the change at the start of the day’s play in the match due to it being tampered with.
Here is how the conversation went:
Craig: “When you scratch it, we change the ball. No more discussion. Let's play. This is not a discussion.”
Kishan: “So, we are going to play with this ball?”
Craig: “You're playing with that ball.”
Kishan: “That's a very stupid decision.”
Craig: “Excuse me. You will be on the report for dissent. That is inappropriate behaviour. Because of your actions, we changed the ball.”
Kishan: “Thank you!”

Cricket Australia (CA) later issued a statement explaining that there was no clear evidence of how the ball became damaged. CA stated that it was unlikely that India A was involved in any wrongdoing. The exchange between Ishan Kishan and Shawn Craig became a hot topic among cricket experts.
These Umpires Want To Be Part Of The IPL - David Warner's wife Candice Warner
Candice Warner appeared on a recent Fox Cricket panel and shared her views on the exchange between Ishan Kishan and Shawn Craig. She said that the incident shows India's strong influence in the cricket world. Candice said that many umpires are eager to be involved in the IPL.
"It just goes to show the power of India and how strong they are. A lot of these umpires want to be part of the IPL," stated Candice Warner.
One panelist offered an opinion on Kishan's behavior and pointed out that India has become the driving force behind the game's financial success, with the country generating nearly all of cricket's revenue. Australia A won by seven wickets, and Kishan couldn't make a significant impact, scoring just 4 and 32.
“India runs the game. Every dollar that is raised in cricket, is raised by India. This change over the last few decades has been extraordinary," noted the panelist.
As one analyst put it, "The way Indian players show dissent sometimes signifies the might and force of India in world cricket."
