The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) travels from the eastern part of India to the capital city, New Delhi, as on Wednesday evening, Delhi Capitals (DC) face Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi.

The two teams had contrasting starts to their IPL campaigns, and DC have won two games in a row, and GT are still finding their first win. The DC vs GT match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.

The Capitals won their last game against the Mumbai Indians, with Sameer Rizvi yet again playing a phenomenal knock to chase the target of 157. GT, on the other hand, lost two close games against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). In their last game, they missed out on their regular captain, Shubman Gill, as he missed out due to muscle pain.

DC are still missing out on Mitchell Starc; however, the bowling attack of the Capitals did not look like that of the franchise, which is missing the veteran Australia pacer. Thus far, the middle order of DC has risen to the occasion; as of now, KL Rahul is yet to come into form, as he has scored a duck and one run in the last two games.

DC will be looking for their top order to fire, with Pathum Nissanka scoring a 46 in the last game, though he is still not at his very best. Sameer Rizvi has been a star for the side. He played a gem knock under pressure in the first game with 26/4 at one stage and then stitched a partnership with Tristan Stubbs of 119 against Lucknow Super Giants.

In the following game, he yet again rose to the occasion, scoring 90 off 51 balls and nearly missing out on his hundred. He would like to continue with his purple patch in the upcoming game against GT, as he is just second to the orange cap holder list in IPL 2026.

For GT, Shubman Gill might be returning after his injury in the last match. The captain is expected to lead the side on the night in the DC vs GT game. His batting will be crucial as well in the game. In last season, the majority of the runs were scored by Gill and opening partner, Sai Sudharsan, as the middle order has not been up to the mark.

The pitch for the DC vs GT match at Arun Jaitley Stadium is expected to be high-scoring. In the evening, when matches were played at this venue, teams were able to score 200 more often, and teams would like to bat first after winning the toss. The fans are expected to come in large numbers for the DC vs GT game.
