Former Indian cricketer lauded Punjab Kings (PBKS) keeper batter Jitesh Sharma for his exploits in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that the youngster will be a great middle-order option for India in the future.
Jitesh Sharma has taken IPL 2023 by storm with his performances. He has been one of the emerging talents this season and it is because of him Punjab Kings can get runs at great pace during the fag end of the innings.

Jitesh Sharma has been lauded by many for his performances as his ability to hit the ball from the word go has put him ahead of other young keepers in the tournament. With the way he’s going, it’s fair to say that he will make his debut for India soon.

Suresh Raina was asked by Hindustan Times. if Jitesh Sharma is potentially the closest to MS Dhoni when it comes to wicketkeeper-batter option. Replying to this, he said that the youngster has been brilliant in the middle order and can be a great asset for the future. He said:
“He’s playing brilliantly in the middle-order so far. He’s played some important cameos. He’s an aggressive player, he had already been a part of Indian team but yes, he can be a great middle-order player. His wicketkeeping skills are good.”

Suresh Raina further went on to say that with the way Jitesh Sharma is batting, Indian selectors would be looking at him and he’ll be a regular feature of the squad in future. He said:
“He’s really impressed everyone with the way he’s batting. I’m sure the selectors would look at him again. His hitting abilities are really good, and you will see him a lot more in the future.”
Jitesh Sharma will be next seen in action when Punjab Kings (PBKS) will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next game on Saturday (13th April).
