Delhi Capitals all-rounder Vipraj Nigam confessed to being delighted after getting hit for even a six by idol Virat Kohli during a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Indian batter Virat Kohli is an inspiration for several cricket players of this generation. Kohli is not only known by his stats, but he is also largely known for his unmatchable character on the field, his high energy that radiates to others on the field, and his sheer determination to not give up hope until the last moment.
With several cricketers emerging as his fans, the Delhi Capitals all-rounder Vipraj Nigam, who made his debut in the IPL this season, has confessed to a blunder with the anticipation of playing against Virat Kohli in an IPL match.
Fanboy Vipraj Nigam makes a wild confession about playing with Virat Kohli
Players might be the best of friends off the field, but as opponents, they should uphold the spirit of the game and the competition as well. However, that was not the case when fanboy Vipraj Nigam bowled to star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
Nigam is a leg-spinner who was hit for a straight six by Kohli, and as noted in the video, he seemed delighted with the hit, thinking he was hit by the great Indian batter at the back of his mind.
"To bowl to Virat Kohli is in itself a dream come true moment; forget about dismissing him. He stepped out and hit me for a straight six over my head," recalled the DC all-rounder. He followed it, saying, "I was delighted by the six as it was hit by the great Virat Kohli."

This might have come from a fanboy instinct for the young man; however, this feeling seems demeaning to the Sportsmanship of a player and his loyalty towards the team.
Kohli's return to the field has been awaited since the IPL final
Indian legend Kohli last played in the IPL final as the Royal Challengers Bangalore won their maiden title in the 18-season-long legacy of the franchise in the history of the tournament.
Kohli was the third-highest run-getter in the season with 657 runs in 15 matches. He also completed 8000 runs in the history of the IPL, a record that seems unbreakable shortly. However, with the IPL glory that gave joy to Kohli fans, his sudden retirement from Test cricket shocked all.
Virat, who had already retired from the T20I format, would now be seen playing in only the ODI format for the Indian team. The 36-year-old veteran was supposed to be seen playing in India's white-ball tour to Bangladesh, but with its postponement, Virat's return to the field has been delayed till the Australia white-ball tour in October.
Vipraj Nigam's debut stats in IPL 2025
Nigam, who was picked for just INR 50 Lakhs by the Delhi Capitals, emerged as a great option in their lineup. He played all 14 matches for the Capitals and was the third spinner in the side alongside the captain, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.
Nigam impressed with the bat at times, as he scored 142 runs; as a lower-order batter, he had an impressive strike rate of 179.75. His 39 in the first match played a major role in DC winning an exceptional game by just 1 wicket.
He also picked 11 wickets with the ball and provided several crucial breakthroughs to the team, and hence played an overall impactful season on his IPL debut.
