Delhi Will Host Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 Knockouts: DDCA Director Sanjay Bhardwaj

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Sanjay Bhardwaj confirmed that Delhi will host the knockout matches of the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy 2021. Earlier, BCCI had informed that the venues for the knockouts will be revealed later and The DDCA director on Friday revealed that the tournament will take place in Arun Jaitley Stadium and the Palam Ground in Delhi.

Delhi will now have to host eight knockout games of the Vijay Hazare Trophy comprising of one eliminator, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, and the final. The knockouts will be played from March 7 and will end with the finals on March 14. So far, the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 has been brilliant with a lot of high voltage games on display and with some mind-boggling individual performances.

“Yes, Delhi would be hosting the knockout matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The matches will be played at the Kotla and in Palam,” Sanjay Bhardwaj told ANI.

Ishan Kishan’s Blistering Knock

Ishan Kishan of Jharkhand smashed 173 runs in just 94 deliveries in the Elite Group B match against Madhya Pradesh in Indore. He hit 19 fours and 11 sixes at a strike rate of 184.04 and reaped the rewards of the knock as he earned his maiden Indian call up for the T20 internationals against England. His strike rate was nearly 400 when he moved from 100 to 150 in just 12 deliveries.

Ishan Kishan has been knocking on the doors of the Indian selectors for a while now with some consistent performances for his domestic side as well as in the IPL for Mumbai Indians. He finished as the highest run-getter for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 and was among the top run-getters list. He has been added in the place of Sanju Samson who hasn’t grabbed his chance in the Indian team.

Prithvi Shaw Records Highest Individual Score

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw who recently was dropped from the Indian squad for the Test series against England got into his groove in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy 2021 and produced a breadth taking innings of 227 to register the highest individual score in the tournament history. He propelled Mumbai to a huge score of 457 for four on the board alongside Surya Kumar Yadav who also scored a century against Puducherry in the same innings.

Prithvi Shaw will be looking to continue his rich vein of form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 to get his name back in the Indian squads.
