Ahead of the fourth match of the ongoing 5-match T20I series between India and England, former India batter Subramaniam Badrinath raised a serious concern. While countless cricket fans are crazy to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in action once again for the Indian cricket team, Badrinath was a little sceptical about the future of the young batter.

There was no second opinion about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's talent. Subramaniam Badrinath also acknowledged the immense talent the emerging cricketer showed during his outings with the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and during the matches with the India A team.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is likely to play in the 4th T20I vs England

Despite being recognised as one of the rare talents, the former cricketer is afraid to say that the fall from the top can be sharper for Vaibhav. India will play the fourth T20I in the tour against England tonight, on July 9, in Bristol.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is expected to retain his place in the playing eleven as the team management has trust in the budding talent. So far, the 15-year-old has scored only 14 and 13 runs in his previous two games. Vaibhav, who is known for ultra-aggressive batting, smashed 4 maximums in his previous two games.

He opened his international account with 6 off England's premium pacer Jofra Archer. In his debut match, England spinner Will Jacks took his wicket, and in the following match, a well-guided bouncer on the off stump took an edge from Vaibhav's gloves and dismissed him early in the previous match.

Subramaniam Badrinath's prediction sounds alarming

By dismissing him twice, the England cricket team showed that the opener can be clinched with a proper game plan. Subramaniam Badrinath feared that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's declining phase could be sharper.

“I hope we have not just hyped Vaibhav Sooryavanshi," Badrinath said.

“He has had a great start and is a phenomenal hitter. But suddenly it’s starting to look like Jofra Archer is sorting him out. I hope he hasn’t been hyped too early because such players peak higher than others when their form is good. But the dip is also sharper for such players when the form is bad," he added.

A must-win match for India in Bristol

Tonight's match will be a must-win match for the Indian cricket team as the home side is leading the 5-match T20I series by 2-0 with one washed-out match in Durham.

If England continues the domination over India and claims another win, then they will take the series away from the Shreyas Iyer-led team. India has come to play the white-ball contest against England after being defeated by Ireland 2-0 in a 2-match T20I.

Losing a T20I series is a rare incident in Indian cricket. If they go down in two consecutive series, then the team will be in front of a bunch of questions. Eyes will be on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi again. Can he capitalise on the chance this time, in Bristol? Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see another cracking knock from the young batter.
