The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.22, was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). While chasing a target of 193, Cam Green was back after scoring a golden duck. The Australia all-rounder was dismissed by Noor Ahmed in the very first ball he faced during the clash.
Came Green’s struggle continues in the IPL. He has not gone past the 30-run mark in this tournament. He was unbeaten in the last match, but he has failed to score runs as he has not gone well in the tournament, and the pressure mounts on Cam Green, as he was paid INR 25.20 crore during the mini-auction last year.
Green's struggle continues
The monetary pressure on Green has led to the downfall of the Australia cricketer. Cam Green has managed only 56 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 147.36, with the highest score of 32* in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. In the last match, after he struck a six, he was relieved in a sigh of relief as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
Green has been under the pump since the start of the tournament due to his price tag. He was brought in to replace Andre Russell in the side, and has substantially failed to make a mark or fill in the shoes of the big Jamaican all-rounder. The Aussie, despite starting bowling, has not been at his very best this season.
KKR are misusing Cam Green
Previously former Aussie skipper Aaron Finch said, "There's a bit of panic, he's not looking the same as the past. Remember when he was at the top of the order for MI - how he had totally different intent," Finch said. "He was imposing at the crease. Now he looks tentative. Don't push him down. Push him either up the order, or give him a rest."
Green is not a great player of spin, and he is good at playing pace. In tonight’s game against CSK, he batted at no.6, and with spinners bowling from both ends, he failed to capitalise and was dismissed on the score of zero on the very first ball. KKR should think about making him bat at the top 3 or dropping him as he is not useful towards the back end of the innings.

So far in #IPL2026, Cameron Green has scored just 24 runs in 3 innings for KKR (18, 2 & 4).

At ₹25.20 crore, that’s over ₹1.05 crore per run! 😱
Absolute waste of money. Time to move on! #KKR #CameronGreen @KKRiders https://t.co/FXze0XkVc1
What Cameron Green was doing batting at no 6 is known only to KKR and how long Rinku Singh will be kept as finisher is known to Sarook.
