A recent video of West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has taken the cricketing world by storm, putting the once-celebrated player in a bad light.

He is remembered for his heroics in the 2016 T20 World Cup final, where he famously struck four consecutive sixes to clinch the second title for the West Indies in India.

However, Brathwaite has been now out of the West Indies’ consideration playing in the franchise leagues across the world and working as a broadcaster.

Brathwaite is currently playing in the Max60 Caribbean League for the New York Strikers.

Carlos Brathwaite’s fiery outburst shocks fans in Max60 Caribbean League

He is typically known for his calm demeanor on the field, but he shocked fans with a rare outburst during a match against the Grand Cayman Jaguars.

The incident occurred during the Super Three stage of the tournament when Brathwaite was controversially given out against Josh Little.

On the third delivery of the ninth over, a short ball from Little struck Brathwaite on the shoulder as he attempted a pull shot. The ball lobbed towards the wicketkeeper, Ben Dunk, who completed the stunning catch.

To the bewilderment of many, the on-field umpire ruled Brathwaite out, seemingly under the impression that the ball had made contact with his glove.

The West Indies hard hitter was clearly frustrated by the decision, staying on the field for a few moments before reluctantly making his way back to the pavilion.

And at that time, the real drama unfolded. However, Brathwaite’s anger got the better of him as he removed his helmet in frustration and hurled it out of the playing area, followed by throwing his bat upon entering the dugout. This unexpected display of temper from Brathwaite has left fans and experts in shock.

Grand Cayman Jaguars vs New York Strikers Match Highlights

Meanwhile, the New York Strikers secured their spot in the final of the Max60 Cayman Islands with a thrilling eight-run victory over the Grand Cayman Jaguars in Qualifier 1.

Batting first, the Strikers set a challenging target, thanks to a quick-fire start by openers Mitchell Owen and Brandon McMullen.

Owen smashed 22 off just 10 balls, featuring four boundaries, while McMullen added a brisk 18 off 8 deliveries, including one four and two towering sixes. Their partnership of 34 runs in just over two overs laid the groundwork for a solid total.

Captain Thisara Perera further boosted their total with a stunning cameo of 16 runs off 7 balls.

Despite a disciplined bowling effort by the Jaguars, with Josh Little, Jake Lintott, and skipper Sikandar Raza each taking two wickets, the Strikers managed to post 108/8 in their 10 overs.

In response, the Grand Cayman Jaguars mounted a strong chase led by Alex Hales, who played an unbeaten knock of 35 from 24 balls, and captain Sikandar Raza, who contributed a quick 27 off 16 balls. However, the Jaguars ultimately fell short, finishing at 96 for five.

Ansh Patel was the standout bowler for the New York Strikers, delivering an impressive spell of 2/8 from his two overs. He was well supported by Isuru Udana and Mitchell Owen, who picked up a wicket each.

With this victory, the New York Strikers have earned their place in the final, where they suffered 56 runs against the Caribbean Tigers on August 25.
