Suryakumar Yadav is all set to lead the Indian team in the upcoming T20I series against India. The first T20I will be played in Vizag on Thursday, November 23. This is the first of the five games with the series ending on December 3 in Bengaluru.
The BCCI selection committee appointed him the captain of a very young T20I side which has been picked for the T20I series. The selection committee was very sure of the squad they picked as they are looking to breed young talent ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.
SKY sounded very relaxed as he spoke in his first press conference as a captain of Team India. “I am also young yaar!” Suryakumar Yadav interjected, with a smile, when he was asked about captaining the ‘young’ guys in the side.

Really Excited To Go About In The Series: Suryakumar Yadav
“What I told them [squad] when I met them in the afternoon today was let’s be very selfless when we go into the field. Because I’m a guy who doesn’t think too much about the personal milestones and instead thinks of the team’s goal. And I’ve always told them that you have to keep the team first and then whatever comes after that, you can take your call. I’ve played with them a lot of times during the IPL and a few India games as well, so they know how I function. And it wasn’t that difficult and we are really excited to go about in the series” Suryakumar Yadav said.
Surya also kept his view on India’s memorable World Cup campaign. After winning 10 games on the trot, India faltered in the final against Australia losing an opportunity to win their third World Cup title.
“It is difficult. It will take time. I mean it can’t be that you get up the next morning and you forget everything that happened. It was a long tournament and obviously, we would have loved to win but then as you say, when you get up in the morning, there’s always sunrise again “ Suryakumar Yadav said.
