Former World Cup-winning cricketer Madan Lal lauded Mohammed Siraj for his impressive performance after the IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Lal stated that the Gujarat Titans pacer bowled like someone who wanted to prove he belongs at the highest level.
Mohammed Siraj was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling against SRH in Hyderabad on Sunday, April 6. He picked up four wickets for 17 runs as Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to score 152 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In response, GT chased down the target in 16.4 overs.
Dropping Players Doesn’t Solve Problems - Madan Lal Lauds Mohammed Siraj
Madan Lal said that Mohammed Siraj showed his fiery intent on the field. Lal added that dropping him isn’t the solution to form-related concerns.
"M . Siraj looks a defiant bowler because he want to prove that he belongs to higher class of cricket . Dropping players doesn’t solve problems," Madan Lal wrote on (formerly known as Twitter).

Siraj bounced back strongly after a disappointing start to IPL 2025, where he conceded 54 runs without a wicket in the opener. The right-arm fast bowler took five wickets across the next two matches before facing Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He picked up a 3-wicket haul for just 19 runs against his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Siraj is proving his worth as a reliable new-ball bowler.
Mohammed Siraj Rattles SRH Top Order, Removes Head and Abhishek Early
Mohammed Siraj dismantled Sunrisers Hyderabad's top order by removing Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma during the powerplay. He later returned in the final overs to claim two more scalps, including the dangerous Aniket Verma. Siraj ended with figures of four wickets as SRH managed just 152/8 in 20 overs.
Nitish Reddy (31), Heinrich Klaasen (27), and Pat Cummins (22*) chipped in with contributions, but SRH failed to post a competitive total. Other key batters, including Ishan Kishan (17), couldn’t make much of an impact. Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore chipped in with two wickets each to restrict the home team.
Skipper Shubman Gill Anchors Chase with Unbeaten 61-Run Knock
In the chase, Gujarat Titans had a shaky start as Sai Sudharsan (5) and Jos Buttler (0) were dismissed cheaply. However, the momentum shifted in their favor with the stand between Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar. Sundar played a brisk knock of 49 off 29 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes.
Gill anchored the innings with an unbeaten 61 runs off 43 deliveries, including nine fours. Sherfane Rutherford added the finishing touch with a quickfire 35* off just 16 balls, including six fours and a six.
The Titans chased down the 153-run target in just 16.4 overs, winning the match with seven wickets to spare. Mohammed Shami took two wickets and Pat Cummins picked up one.
