Duleep Trophy 2024: Watch: Devdutt Padikkal bamboozled by Shams Mulani's unbelievable delivery

Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani bamboozled left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal with an absolute peach during the clash between India A and India D. The bowler dismissed Devdutt Padikkal, who is playing for India D, for a low score during the fourth and final day of the ongoing red-ball match in Anantapur.

India D began the fourth day's play at 62-1, with Ricky Bhui (44) and Yash Dubey (15) at the crease. India A achieved a breakthrough on the final day by running Dubey out for 37 runs. Bhui drove the ball to the right of the bowler, but it deflected off Dubey's bat. Shams Mulani quickly removed the bails.

Shams Mulani picked up the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal in his next over. The left-arm spinner bowled a full delivery on the off-stump line and sharply turned inwards. Padikkal attempted to drive but was beaten and had his leg stump knocked out. This was a poor shot from Padikkal, leaving India D at 105-3.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) domestic shared the video of Devdutt Padikkal's dismissal on X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "Flight. Turn. Timber 🔥 Shams Mulani bowls a lovely delivery to dismiss the in-form Devdutt Padikkal 👌"

Padikkal played an impressive knock during the first innings. The left-handed batter scored 92 runs off 124 balls with the help of 15 boundaries. However, he didn’t get support from other batters as India D were bowled out for 183 runs. Mulani picked up one wicket for 50 runs in the first innings.

India A struggled after being asked to bat first. The Mayank Agarwal-led side lost five wickets for just 93 runs in 25 overs. However, Mulani and Tanush Kotian stabilized the innings with half-centuries. They added 91 runs for the seventh wicket. Kotian was dismissed for 53 runs off 80 balls.

Mulani scored 89 runs off 187 balls, including eight boundaries and three sixes. The team was bowled out for 290 runs in 84.3 overs on the second day. Harshit Rana picked up four wickets for 51 runs. Vidhwath Kaverappa and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each in the first innings of the match.

Shams Mulani And Tanush Kotian - Suryakumar Yadav

Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Mumbai teammates Mulani and Tanush Kotian for their impressive performances on Day 1. Their ability to deliver under pressure impressed Suryakumar, and he acknowledged their exceptional impact when it mattered most.

“A living legend has said हम जहा खड़े होते है लाइन वही से शुरू होती है| Ye dono bhi jab khade hote hain toh runs ki barish hoti hai. Real crisis men. Lage raho doston,” Suryakumar wrote.

"Shams mulani and Tanush kotian . So so proud of you both. Crisis men for Mumbai and now for INDA in the Duleep trophy. Enjoy the journey bhai log," he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
