South Africa and England go head to head in the first of the three-match T20I series in Bristol on July 27. The other two matches will be played on May 28 and 31. Both teams then will play a three-match Test series later to end the ENG vs SA series.
The ODI serioes between the two teams ended in a draw after the decider at Headingley was washed out. South Africa won the first ODI and England the second. Quinton de Kock was unbeaten on 92 when rain interrupted the third ODI and was finally called off.

The South African wicketkeeper-batsman also blamed the hectic scheduling as one of the reasons behind the early retirement of players. De Kock who retired from Tests after the first Test against India in Centurion last year said that his calendar is not yet free despite of retiring from one format.
“It hasn’t freed up my calendar – at least not this year. I’ve been roped in to play a couple of leagues but that’s my own consequence. I am happy to do it. It’s still a sacrifice but I’m slowly getting to an age where I need to think about where I want to be in my career. As long as I can do it at my own pace, then I am happy” de Kock said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

Meanwhile, the T20I series is important for both teams in terms of their preparation for the T20 World Cup later this year. South Africa won against England in the last T20I game they played against each other in the T20 World Cup last year. Overall, they are neck to neck in terms of head-to-head in T20IS.
