England and South Africa continue the ENG vs SA series now with the three-match T20I series. The first T20I will be played at the County Ground in Bristol on July 27. The rest of the two games will be played on May 28 and 31. The two teams then play a three-match Test series starting from August 17 with the first Test at Lord’s.

The T20I series is important for both teams after the ODI series ended in a stalemate. The hosts won the first ODI while the visitors the second. The decider was nicely set up at Headingley but rain played spoilsport.

In terms of head to head in T20Is, out of the total 22 games played England have won 11 and South Africa 10. They won the last T20I played between both sides in the T20 World Cup last year.

“I’ve captained a few times in my career so far, and what I’ve learnt is that things do get a bit crazy and frantic out there. It’s about having clear plans along with trying to stay as calm as possible” South African skipper David Miller said on leading the side against England.

The hosts too have their work cut out with Ben Stokes rested from the white-ball series and Eoin Morgan retired. Stokes retiring from the ODI format has left a big void to be filled and now his absence in the T20I series is a cause of concern as well.

“We can sit down now and look at what it will be without Ben for us heading to the World Cup. He is a world-class all-rounder” said Buttler on Stokes’ absence from the series.

The first T20I starts at 6.30 pm local time which is 11 pm IST. The temperature will be 16 degrees and partly cloudy by the time the first T20I starts. There is a high percentage chance of rain that might hamper the progress of the game. So far just six T20Is have been played at this venue and five matches have been won by the team chasing. The first signs are that chasing is the way to go at this venue.
