The ENG-W vs SL-W game in County Ground, Northampton turned out to be a lucky one for a fan who proposed to his lady love. In return, she said yes to make his day and for the fans and the players alike at the venue, it was a great spectacle.
England women won the toss and opted to bowl first in the second ODI. They asked their opponents to bat first in the process and have got them tottering at 99/7 at the time of writing this story.
Skipper Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 34. Once she was dismissed the entire innings derailed. Five batters were dismissed for single-digit scores with two scoring ducks.
All the England bowlers were at the top of their game. All of them were amongst the wickets with Charlotte Dean and Alice Davidson Richards taking two each. Kate Cross, Lauren Filer, and Sarah Glenn took one each.
Meanwhile, while the players were busy playing the game, a man named Mayank proposed to his lady love Dory. He went down on his knees to propose and Dory was wise enough to say yes to the proposal. Former England pacer Steven Finn was the mediator of all of this for Sky Sports. Whatever happened at the venue evoked a reaction from former Australian captain Ricky Ponting as well.

Sri Lanka women are currently on a tour to England. They won the T20I series 2-1. However, they started the ODI series on the back foot. England won the first ODI by seven wickets and have their noses in front in the second ODI too.
Due to rain the start of play was delayed by 30 minutes due to the morning drizzle. However, the clouds were replaced by the sun soon after and the play started with no overs lost.
