England All Set To Tour South Africa And New Zealand In 2023

According to the reports of ESPNcricinfo England National Cricket Team are all set to tour South Africa National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team in early 2023.

Originally in the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2018-23, the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup was scheduled to begin in 2023 in India in the February-March window. However, due to the postponement of the 2020 edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to October-November 2022 the marquee tournament has been shifted to an October-November window.

The England tour of Bangladesh which will consist of three T20 International games and three One Day Internationals games has been pushed back until March 2023 and this was confirmed by the England and Wales cricket board (ECB) in August. Also, the ESPNcricinfo reports suggest that England will tour South Africa and New Zealand at the start of 2023.

The England tour of South Africa is set to have as many as three One Day Internationals (ODI) games and the series will be part of the World Cup Super League. Notably, the series was scheduled to commence in December 2020 but due to the Covid-19 scare in England camp, it was suspended and will be played in January.

Then, the England cricketers will tour New Zealand for two-match Test series in February and the series will not be part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

With the addition of two new tours, the men’s English team will play bilateral series in five different countries in the 2022-23 winter. Also, they will play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Meanwhile, their winter is set to commence with seven T20 Internationals in Pakistan from September after that they will play three T20 Internationals and as many as One Day Internationals in Australia and then tour South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh next year.
