England is all set to face Australia in an ODI series after the completion of the T20I series. The ODI series commences with the first game on Thursday, September 19 in Nottingham.

Harry Brook leads England in the absence of Jos Buttler. The hosts made a stunning comeback in the T20I series to level it in the end. Now, they need to showcase better efforts in the ODI series at home.

The home team is short of key members but has their core squad with them. They will form a powerful playing 11 for the first game. Below we glance at their predicted playing 11 for the 1st ODI against Australia.

Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett would be the opener for England in the 1st ODI against Australia. In the absence of Jos Buttler, he has more responsibilities on his shoulders.

Phil Salt (WK)

Phil Salt might take the opening slot in the absence of Jos Buttler. England has not played ODIs for a long time and the team will be ready to do some experiments in the top order.

Jordan Cox

The team is short of batters in the ODI series and they might try Jordan Cox at the one-down slot. He was part of the T20I series too but failed to impress with the bat.
