England Squads For Bangladesh White-ball Tour Announced, Rehan Ahmed Earns Call-up

On Thursday, February 2, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced 15-player squads of the England National Cricket Team for the upcoming limited-overs tour of Bangladesh.

The England tour of Bangladesh 2023 consists of a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. The ODIs will be played on March 1, 3 and 6 while the T20Is will be played on March 9, 12 and 14.

The uncapped Somerset batter Tom Abell, who will captain the England Lions in the upcoming ODI series in Sri Lanka, is included in both squads, which will be led by regular skipper Jos Buttler.

Also, the Leicestershire leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed has earned his maiden white-ball call-up. Rehan made his international debut in the third and final Test match of the series against Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team at the National Stadium in Karachi last year.

The 18-year-old became the youngest ever to represent England in Test cricket. Also, he became the youngest to take a five-wicket haul on his Test debut as he finished his spell with the figures of 5/48 in Pakistan’s second innings. Overall, he claimed impressive figures of 7/137 on his Test debut.

Also, Saqib Mahmood, who is preparing to make his return to full international cricket following the back injury he suffered last May, has been included in the ODI squad for the series against Bangladesh.
