Regarding England’s rescheduled Test victory over India, England coach Brendon McCullum referred to ‘Bazball’ as a “silly term.”
England has been in excellent form this summer, winning all four Test matches.

McCullum and captain Ben Stokes have formed a formidable partnership in the longest format of the game, and the Three Lions have played an attacking brand of cricket dubbed ‘Bazball’ by the English press.

‘Bazball’ has been referred to as a “silly phrase” by Test coach Brendon McCullum after England defeated India in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston.

“No, I do not know what Bazball is; I am just giving it a go, but the lads have been great; it could not have been a better start in my opinion. Our team members will undoubtedly make an effort to continue taking a very optimistic attitude. If we consider the strategy used by the men, I believe the actual key is not just the crash and burn.”

“Because there is actually a lot of thought that goes into how the men manufacture their performances and when they put pressure on bowlers and which bowlers they put pressure on, I do not really like that foolish word that people are flinging around. Additionally, there have been occasions when they have handled pressure admirably” McCullum said to Adam Gilchrist on SEN WA Breakfast.

Since his appointment, England has won a series sweep against New Zealand and a record-breaking run chase in the rescheduled fifth Test against India.

McCullum was asked about his team’s new approach as he spoke with reporters following England’s 3-0 victory over New Zealand.

“I have not given it much thought. I just look at the players we have and think they fit the bill for what we are trying to achieve and the style we want to play. It is most likely not what we are looking for. “I am happy with what we have right now,” McCullum said.

The press dubbed the new attacking approach instituted by McCullum and captain Ben Stokes as BazBall, after McCullum’s nickname.
