The second Test match between England and New Zealand will be played in Edgbaston from June 10-14. The previous match ended in a draw which makes this one the series decider. A lot happened in the first Test barring it only failed to produce a result. There was goos batsmanship on saw matched equally by good bowling spells and match performances. 

The match is important for different reasons for both these teams. While New Zealand gets another chance to finetune their team combination ahead of the WTC final, England have a chance to win their first Test series of a new summer. They were beaten by India in an away tour after getting the better of Sri Lanka on their shores.

The ICC suspend Ollie Robinson from international cricket after his sexist tweets from the past resurfaced on the internet. Dom Bess has been added to the squad for the second Test. This also means England might play two spinners in the lineup. 

New Zealand will see the return of Trent Boult into the playing XI. Meanwhile, skipper Kane Williamson is suffering from elbow problems which might see him miss the Tets match. Tom Latham will lead the team in his absence in Edgbaston.

The pitch at Edgbaston is expected to be majorly a batting-friendly one with enough assistance for seamers throughout the five days of the Test match. The batters need to be wary of the new ball as the spinners might get into the game on the final two days of the Test match. The teams can play one spinner each in the XI given that pace is their real strength.

The weather is expected to stay a lot better than the first Test at Lord’s. The first Test saw rain interrupt the game on the third day. However, at Edgbaston, there are minimal chances of rain. The weather should be pleasant, with an average temperature of 23 degrees celsius presenting good conditions of cricket throughout the course of the five days.
