Indian opener Shafali Verma was denied entry at the Delhi airport after she was late to catch a flight to Varanasi. The Indian cricketer was supposed to fly from Delhi to Varanasi but she was late to catch her flight.
The 19-year-old mentioned in her tweet that she reached 25 minutes before departure but still was not allowed to board the flight. She further complained that the staff’s behavior at Indigo Airlines was very rude as well.
Being dejected after missing her flight, the star cricketer shared her disappointment on Twitter. “Delhi to Varanasi: I came 25mins before the departure time and we requested a lot, still I was denied entry. The staff’s behaviour was very rude. #indigo this wasn’t a good experience” Shafali Verma wrote on Twitter/X.

The general rule is to reach the airport at least two to three hours before departure. The gates at the airport are generally closed 45-60 minutes before take-off.
The Indian batter Shafali Verma on her part did not follow the rules and had to pay the price for it. Tweeting about missing the flight backfired as she was schooled on Twitter/X for reaching the airport late. The Twitterverse further said that the airline just followed the rules. A few were sympathetic towards Shafali Verma and suggested her to take a bus or a train ride to her destination.
Shud have come after take off and requested #indigo to call the flight back for you. ?

Maybe your behaviour was rude and staff gave you taste of your own medicine?

“I hope you understand that airlines also has to put your luggage into the luggage compartment and prep the plane for takeoff. Also plane has to pushback, taxi and reach the threshold of runway at departure time. 25 mins is not enough. That’s why common people reach 2 hours before,” wrote a Twitter user making her understand the importance of reaching the airport on time.
“If you were on the plane and someone else came in late and caused a delayed departure then you would’ve still complained about indigo for their lack of punctuality. Learn to respect everyone’s time,” wrote another user.
