Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar talked about Virat Kohli's dismissal in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He said that the batter wanted to save reviews and didn't know he had edged it.

Virat Kohli was on the receiving end of an unusual dismissal in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh. The right-hander only had himself to blame as he had a chance to save his wicket by taking the DRS, but he didn't as he walked back to the pavilion just ahead of the stumps on Day 2.

Virat Kohli walked out to bat when Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket for 10 runs. The senior India batter looked comfortable at the crease right from the start as he corrected the mistake that he made in the first innings. The batter left the balls outside off pretty well and defended the ball solidly.

Virat Kohli was looking all set for a big knock before was trapped in lbw by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The off-spinner bowled a full ball to which the India batter attempted to play through the on-side, and it seemed he got beaten on the inside edge as the ball hit the front pad adjacent to the off-stump.

It looked plumb right from the start, and the umpire raised his finger. Shubman Gill, who was at the non-striker's end, told Virat Kohli to take the review, but the senior batter didn't agree. He kept his head down and walked back to the pavilion, quite disappointed, especially with the way he got out for 27 runs.

As he went up, the ultra edge showed there was a big spike as the ball passed the bat. Virat Kohli had no idea that he had nicked the ball, and when later it was shown on the big screen, the crowd and the Indian team members looked disappointed.

Sanjay Manjrekar sympathized with Virat Kohli, saying that the batter thought he didn't hit the ball. He believes that the senior batter wanted to save the reviews for his team, and hence, despite Shubman Gill encouraging him, he didn't take. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:

"Felt bad for Virat today. He obviously didn’t think he had hit it. Just wanted to know from Gill if ball was hitting stumps. Despite Gill encouraging him to go for the review anyway, he walked away dejected, wanting to keep the 3 reviews for his team."

He is a bowler with just strengths, zero weakness - Sanjay Manjrekar on Jasprit Bumrah

Sanjay Manjrekar also heaped rich praise on India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. While hailing the speedster as the champion bowler, he mentioned that the pacer is a bowler with zero weakness. He elaborated:

"Is there anything more left to say about Bumrah as a champion bowler? Well I realised today that he is a bowler with just strengths, zero weakness. Guess, that’s the ultimate yardstick for greatness."

Jasprit Bumrah was the main architect behind India bundling out Bangladesh National Cricket Team for just 149 runs in the first innings. He picked a four-wicket haul and returned with the figures of 4/50 in the 11 overs that he bowled.
