Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, while talking about missing the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, said that he felt very low as he was not dropped from the Indian team for five years.
The Indian selection committee decided to drop leg-spinner Chahal from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 squad and young leg-spinner Rahul Chahar was given the preference over him and Chahar was the sole leg-spinner in the T20 World Cup 2021 team.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old wrist spinner has opened up on the T20 World Cup snub on the ‘RCB Podcast’. He said that he was shocked after not being able to see his name in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad list.
“The team was supposed to be announced at 9:30 and then it got delayed by a bit. I swear I did not know that my name wouldn’t come. When the list came, I did not say anything to anyone for a few minutes,” he stated.
Yuzvendra Chahal added that he was very low and didn’t “feel like eating anything that night”.
“My wife was asking me about the announcement and I sent her the screenshot. The dinner had arrived but didn’t feel like eating anything that night. Felt very low as I wasn’t dropped even once for five years,” he asserted.

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has played 114 Indian Premier League games and has bagged 139 wickets at an economy of 7.59 and an average of 22.3.
He said that his main aim is to become the first bowler in the history of the cash-rich league to pick 200 wickets. Also, he said that he wants to play for India National Cricket Team for the next 5-6 years.
“My goal is to become the first bowler to take 200 wickets in IPL. Moreover, I also want to continue playing for team India for the next 5-6 years,” he stated.
Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction. He is amongst the 590 players who will go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction, which will take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Chahal has placed himself in the INR 2 crore bracket.
