Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal once again made his country proud and reached a brilliant century in the first innings of the IND vs ENG second Test match being played in Visakhapatnam. Jaiswal reached his hundred on the 3rd ball of the 49th over. Jaiswal launched a brilliant six against Tom Hartley towards the long-on region and reached the three-figure mark. Jaiswal missed out on a ton in the first match of the series and got out to Joe Root after scoring 80 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal started with a bang and hit two boundaries in the second over of Joe Root. Jaiswal made his intentions clear from the first over and paced his innings accordingly. Jaiswal also showcased maturity and left the good balls, whereas, he attacked the loose balls. This is Jaiswal’s second Test century, the first came against West Indies on his Test debut in July 2023.

Indian team on the other hand after the debacle in the first Test match won the toss in Vizag and opted to bat first. The Indian openers started off well and added 40 runs for the first wicket. Rohit was once again not able to convert his start into a big score and got out to Shoaib Bashir for 14 runs from 41 balls. Shubman Gill looked good at the start of his innings and hit five during his 46-ball stay at the crease. However, he fell against James Anderson for 34 runs.

The Indian team finished at 103/2 at Lunch on Day 1 and the duo will be aiming to build a strong partnership and help Team India reach a big first innings score.

India are currently 1-0 down in the five-match Test series. England registered a 28-run win in the first Test despite being underdogs on the first two days of the match. However, Tom Hartley and Ollie Pope led England’s tremendous fightback. At one end Pope played a remarkable knock of 196 runs in the second innings and helped the Three Lions gain a second-innings lead of 230 runs. Hartley on the other hand, ripped through the Indian batting lineup in the second innings and helped the team win the match with a seven-wicket haul.
