Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten who is one of the most successful coaches in world cricket, could become the next Pakistan head coach, while 2 other names have discussed as well. Gary Kirsten is one of the popular names in world cricket when it comes to coaching, and he was one of the main reasons behind India’s success in the 2011 World Cup triumph.

He went on to coach the Proteas for a while after the 2011 World Cup, and he will be a great addition to the Pakistan side, who are searching for a foreign permanent head coach. The previous head coach Misbah Ul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis had stepped down from their positions ahead of the T20 World Cup, and Saqlain Mushtaq has been appointed as the interim coach for Pakistan.

Simon Katich And Peter Moores Are Also In Fray

Former Australian batsman Simon Katich and former English cricketer Peter Moores are also two of the names shortlisted for the position of Pakistan head coach. Katich has been a regular feature in the coaching setup of IPL teams in the last few years, and he started off with Kolkata Knight Riders as an assistant coach. He then moved on to Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he served as the head coach this year.

Peter Moores, on the other hand, has served as the head coach for England for a couple of years, and he is more into taking up roles in franchise cricket. He has also been associated with the Pakistan Super League, and he recently signed up a three-year contract extension with Nottinghamshire. Ramiz Raja, who became the PCB Chairman recently, is likely to appoint the next head coach.
