The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly appointed men's cricket team white-ball coach Gary Kirsten for a crucial role in the upcoming Champions One Day Cup. Gary Kirsten will oversee and monitor players participating during the upcoming five-team 50-over domestic tournament in Pakistan.
Gary Kirsten was appointed as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Kirsten coached the team in the recent World Cup, where the Men in Green exited from the group stage. Pakistan suffered losses to the United States of America (USA) and India.
Kirsten returned to his hometown in South Africa after the World Cup. However, he remained actively involved in the team's preparation. He made a brief visit to Lahore to meet with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in July, where he provided feedback on the team's performance and future plans.
