Former Indian Opener Gautam Gambhir feels that the CSK led by MS Dhoni has taken the right decision not to change the whole team and instead they released just five players. Gautam Gambhir who has captained KKR to two IPL trophies had made it clear that MS Dhoni is not a person who likes to change the team more often and he will stick to his men until the mega auction next year.

CSK have released five players in the names of Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla, Murali Vijay, Harbhajan Singh, and Monu Kumar but acquired the services of Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan Royals for a good price.

Shane Watson has retired from all forms of cricket and won’t take further part in the IPL. CSK has released their two of their costliest players Kedar Jadhav and Piyush Chawla which means their purse amount raises to 22.90 crores with 7 slots available for the IPL 2021 auction.

Constant Team Helping CSK In The Present

Gautam Gambhir stressed on MS Dhoni’s strategy to build a team for the particular season and not thinking too far ahead. He pointed out RCB who have released 10 players despite reaching Playoffs last season while CSK have retained most of their core players even though they have not reached their playoffs.

They will also have the strategy of sending Jadhav and Chawla into the auction pool and getting them back for cheaper prices if they don’t find the alternatives for these two cricketers.

“This is MS Dhoni’s specialty. I have always said that MS Dhoni does not think too far ahead. He only thinks about building the team for a particular season and that is the difference between CSK and RCB. People are saying that CSK had a very bad season and need an overall revamp but despite that, they have left only five players. On the other hand, RCB have left ten players even after qualifying for the playoffs,” said Gautam Gambhir.

CSK’s Professionalism In Managing Players

Gambhir highlighted the way CSK handles its players who are in the playing XI as well as in the dressing room professionally giving security to them and backing them from the word go. Gambhir also felt that the right decision has been made by the CSK management to release the two expensive players and also finds it sensible rather than an overall revamp.

“CSK’s success story in the IPL is a balanced mind which knows how important it is to give security to the players, not only to those players who are in your playing XI but also all the players who are sitting in the dressing room,” said Gambhir.
