India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir picked his all-time best XI for the Men in Blue. What caught the attention of many was he left out current captain Rohit Sharma, who is rated as the best opener, and Jasprit Bumrah, who is called as the best fast bowler of the team.

Gautam Gambhir picked himself as the opener of the team along with Virender Sehwag. The two are among the finest to have played for the Indian National Cricket Team. They have made valuable contributions to the team in all three formats of the game, helping the team win major events.

At No.3, Gambhir picked Rahul Dravid. The Wall, no doubt, was one of the solid batters and was the backbone of the team during his playing days. He saved the India National Cricket Team from various collapses and played a huge role for the team in the Tests and ODIs.

Gautam Gambhir then picked Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli at No.4 and No.5 respectively.

The two are the best batters produced by the Indian National Cricket Team. While Tendulkar is rated as the God of cricket, Kohli is seen as his successor and they are the two batters with the most centuries in cricket.

Yuvraj Singh was named as the spin bowling all-rounder in the team. He arguably is one of the best all-rounders produced by the team. Singh played a crucial role for India and helped them win the T20 World Cup 2007 and the 2011 World Cup, where he was Player of the Tournament.

MS Dhoni found a place in Gambhir's all-time best India XI as the keeper-batter in the team. There's no doubt that Dhoni has been the best keeper for the India team. He also is the most successful captain for the team, guiding them to all the white-ball ICC titles and also making team No.1 in Tests.

Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin are the two spinners who found a place in Gautam Gambhir's all-time best India XI. Kumble is the leading wicket-taker for the team in Test cricket with 619 scalps and also was decent for the team in ODI cricket as well.

On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin has been on par with Anil Kumble as well. He is the second leading wicket-taker for India in Tests and has made massive contributions to the team in the ODIs as well as T20Is. He was also part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad.

Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan were the two fast bowlers picked by the Gambhir in his all-time best India XI.

Both the left-arm pacers made massive contributions to the team in three formats. Pathan also was handy for the team with the bat as he played some vital hand for the team.
