Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has seen youngsters dishing out some fantastic performances. Bowlers like Anrich Nortje, Mohammed Shami, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins have also done exceptionally well for their side. However, former India and KKR captain believes their is another bowler who has done exceptionally well in IPL 2020.

Gambhir is mighty impressed with the way leg-spinner Chahal has performed in the IPL 2020. The former India cricketer mentioned that his performance has been right up there along with other bowlers in the lucrative tournament.

There is more hype around other bowlers: Gautam Gambhir

Chahal started his IPL 2020 campaign with a match-winning performance. He returned figures of 3/18 in the match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and was adjudged the man-of-the-match. He has picked up nine wickets in the IPL 2020 so far and is alive in the race for the purple cap holder this season. Gambhir believes that despite his performance there is more hype around other bowlers.

“Yuzvendra Chahal has been brilliant. We keep talking about Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins; but Chahal in IPL, especially in this season, has been right up there,” Gambhir said on ESPNCricinfo.

“We should be talking about Chahal much more. There is more hype around other bowlers. But he has done brilliantly for RCB,” Gambhir further said.

RCB has the record of reaching three finals. RCB entered the final match last time in 2016 but since then they have been at the bottom of the table. Moreover, in 2019, the franchise  finished last with just 5 wins from 14 matches. The team chairman has also said that though the team is learning, not winning titles adds pressure.

The Bangalore franchise have started the IPL 2020 season on a positive note as they have clinched victories in three out of five matches to be placed on the third spot in the table.
