Gerhard Erasmus crowned ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year 2024; Esha Oza receives Women’s award

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus has been selected as the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year for 2024. Gerhard Erasmus earned the honor due to his consistent and outstanding performances across both ODIs and T20Is throughout the year.
Erasmus showcased remarkable batting form that played a pivotal role in Namibia securing crucial victories in both white-ball formats. In addition to his batting contributions, Erasmus proved effective with his off-spin. He also delivered commendable performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The International Cricket Council announced Gerhard Erasmus as the winner of the Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year for 2024 on Sunday, January 26. The ICC wrote, "Consistency personified 🌟 For the second time, Namibia's talismanic captain, Gerhard Erasmus, is named ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year."

Gerhard Erasmus began the year with a Player-of-the-Match performance against Nepal in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, taking 5/28 and scoring a crucial half-century in a low-scoring chase. He scored a rapid 52 off 31 balls and took 2/29 in a narrow loss against Scotland in the T20 World Cup.
He was pivotal in a thrilling super-over victory against Oman, which was Namibia's only win in the tournament. Erasmus demonstrated resilience against a formidable Australian side, scoring 36 runs in the match. His ability to deliver in high-pressure situations made him a deserving recipient of the award.
Gerhard Erasmus's Stellar All-Round Record in 2024
The 29-year-old concluded 2024 with exceptional all-round performances in both ODIs and T20Is. Erasmus scored 364 runs at an average of 33.09 and took 18 wickets at 22.38 across 12 ODI matches.
In T20Is, he amassed 363 runs at an average of 33.00 and secured 18 wickets at an impressive average of 13.61 in 13 matches. Overall, the all-rounder scored 727 runs and took 36 wickets in 25 matches.
Esha Oza Crowned ICC Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year 2024
UAE women’s cricket team captain Esha Oza has been named the ICC Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year for 2024. Oza delivered exceptional all-round performances in her team’s success.

Esha Oza began the year by leading the UAE to victory in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Premier Cup, where she was the tournament's top scorer and named Player of the Tournament.
Oza played a crucial knock of 66 off 39 balls against the Netherlands, helping the team to the knockout stages of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. She continued her strong form with another 66-run performance against Sri Lanka in the semi-final.
