Glenn Maxwell Opens Up On The Experiences In RCB's Dressing Room, Feels Fortunate To Be With Two Greats Of The Game

Australian explosive batsman Glenn Maxwell who had a brilliant IPL stint with the RCB side has revealed how two greats of the game in Virat and AB influenced his very own game. Maxwell had one of his best IPL seasons if not the best in this 2021 season as he finished as the top scorer for the RCB franchise with 513 runs in 15 games.
He also finished fifth in the race for the orange cap and it has been a significant rise in his individual game. Having struggled to play the role of a finisher for various franchises in the last four to five years, he finally was assigned a different role of playing in the top order and he took it with both hands. He also kept contributing with the ball and he has always been an incredible fielder.
“I Was Being A Sponge To Virat And AB” – Glenn Maxwell
Glenn Maxwell mentioned that he had a learning curve in the RCB dressing room every day by looking at how the two greats in Virat and AB Devilliers prepare for the games. He added that he had been grateful to have shared the dressing room with the two players and was delighted by the fact that they were ready to talk about the game to him always.
“Every day was a learning experience, every day I was finding something new out, I was being a sponge to Virat and AB, just watching the way they go about things.
“That’s been one thing in the IPL I’ve been extremely thankful of – the opportunities it gives you to learn off the best players in the world. I was extremely fortunate to have two of the greats in the game in the same team and in the same batting line-up who were open to share their experiences and talk to me about their game,” Maxwell told as reported by WA today
Glenn Maxwell Reckons He Felt More Confident In RCB Dug Out
Glenn Maxwell mentioned that his confidence level has soared up really high after the RCB side backed him a lot and added that he was delighted by the greats of the game believing in his abilities.
“It makes you feel 10-feet tall when you have their backing, they’re watching you and ask you questions. It makes you feel confident, it makes you feel happy,” he added.
Glenn Maxwell’s next assignment will be in the T20 World Cup 2021 for Australia and he will have to come up with impactful performances again.
