"Grateful For You" - KL Rahul's Rumoured Girlfriend Athiya Shetty Sends A Sweet Birthday Wish For The Opener

India batsman and Punjab Kings captain, KL Rahul celebrates his 29th birthday on Sunday (April 18). The wishes have been pouring in from all quarters on social media from cricketers to non-cricket celebrities as the Karnataka opener has been associated with plenty of brands and entertainment personalities.

One such special message for KL Rahul came from Athiya Shetty, the actress daughter of Bollywood superstar Sunil Shetty. For the past couple of years, it has been rumoured that KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty have been dating – both have previously been spotted together several times and have also shared adorable photos of each other.

The 28-year-old actress, who has starred in movies such as Hero and Mubarakan, took to Instagram sharing a couple of images of herself with the birthday boy.

“grateful for you, happy birthday,” Athiya Shetty captioned her post wishing the opener.

KL Rahul to lead Punjab against Delhi on his birthday

Their celebrations for KL Rahul’s birthday would be escalated if the right-hander could deliver a victory for his side who will take on Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals on Sunday evening in Mumbai. Punjab won their first game in a last-ball thriller against Rajasthan Royals but succumbed to the Deepak Chahar and the Chennai Super Kings in their second match.

The skipper himself led from the front against the Royals with fantastic innings of 91 runs off 50 balls, but was run out from a bullet Ravindra Jadeja throw against the Super Kings.

The conundrum for Punjab has been the lack of a trusted all-rounder; their batsman don’t bowl, and their bowlers don’t bat. The lack of batting depth was exposed against CSK when they were 5 down inside 7 overs with Jhye Richardson as number 7.

The Punjab team does have Moises Henriques and  Fabian Allen in their squad, but to bring either of them in the eleven, KL Rahul would be forced to drop one of his quick bowlers between Richardson and Riley Meredith, who was impressed with his extra pace against CSK.
