"Great Gesture" - Kapil Dev Lauds PM Narendra Modi's Dressing Room Visit Post CWC Final Loss

Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev complimented Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter met with the players of the Indian cricket team after their loss to Australia in the World Cup final.
India lost to Australia in the World Cup final on November 19, Sunday. Travis Head’s unbeaten ton helped Australia clinch the game as they won their sixth 50-0ver World Cup title.
After the match, PM Narendra Modi went to the Indian dressing room and consoled them after the loss. He congratulated the Indian players on making it to the final. Team India were on an unbeaten run in the lead up to the final and lost the match to Australia.

Cricket experts and fans are blaming the management after the loss for opting for a low and slow pitch after the loss. They felt that if India opted for a batting-friendly wicket they would have won the final.
Great Gesture From PM Narendra Modi: Kapil Dev
Meanwhile, speaking at an event, Kapil Dev lauded PM Modi’s gesture of meeting the players and forwarding his best wishes to the national tea.
“It was a great gesture from the PM. It would have given a lot of confidence to the players as well after someone who is sitting at the helm showed that kind of a gesture,” Kapil said, as quoted by News18.
India, meanwhile, are playing a T20I series against Australia under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav. They won the first two games but lost the third in Guwahati on November 28, Thursday. Australia won on the back of Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten ton which was his fourth T20I ton in international cricket. The former Indian skipper hailed the youngsters in the side for being a part of the series and putting out a competitive performance so far.
“It feels good when the team does well. It’s a learning process that continues to go on. One should learn from their mistakes and rectify them” said the former Indian skipper.
Australia’s win in the third T20I keeps the series alive with the final two games to be played on December 1 (Raipur) and December 3 (Bengaluru).
