Gujarat Titans Playing 11 vs Punjab Kings- IPL 2025, Match 5

Gujarat Titans (GT) will be eyeing a winning start to their campaign in IPL 2025 when they take on Punjab Kings (PBKS). The match is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (March 25).

Gujarat Titans failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time last season. After starting their journey in the IPL by winning the title in 2022, GT had finished runners-up in IPL 2023. However, they could not replicate those performances in 2024 under Shubman Gill's captaincy.

Gujarat Titans finished at a disappointing eighth spot last season. They could only win five games while two of their games were washed out. They struggled for consistency throughout the season and will be hoping to do well this season.

Openers: Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk)

Captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler are set to be the openers in the GT Playing 11 for IPL 2025. Gill will be desperate to lead the side from the front this season after a disappointing campaign last year. The onus will be on the GT captain to give his team a good start.

Gill has ample experience of playing in the IPL. So far, he has played 103 games and scored 3,216 runs, including four centuries and 20 half-centuries.

In Buttler, Gujarat Titans have one of the best white-ball openers in the world. Buttler could turn out to be the x-factor for the Gujarat-based outfit this season. The England star has scored 3,582 runs in 107 IPL matches so far, including seven centuries and 19 fifties.

Middle-order: Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, Glenn Phillips, Rahul Tewatia, Washington Sundar

Sai Sudharsan has become one of the most important players for Gujarat Titans in recent times and expectations will be sky high from him. He was the highest run-scorer for the team last season, scoring 527 runs with the help of a century and two fifties. The highly-rated southpaw will be eyeing another productive season with the bat.

Shahrukh Khan can be give the important role of batting at number four this season. It will allow the pinch-hitter to take his team before playing the big shots. He has played 40 IPL games so far and has scored scored 553 runs at a strike rate of 141.

The other reliable middle-order option in the GT Playing 11 is New Zealand star Glenn Phillips. The right-handed batsman has shown in the past that he can excel in the subcontinental conditions and will be keen to do well for GT this season.

Rahul Tewatia and Washington Sundar are set to be the allrounders in the GT Playing 11. Both the players can make match-winning contributions with both bat and ball and will be keen to show their worth this season.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

GT are likely to play the game with three frontline pacers and one specialist spinner. Afghanistan star Rashid Khan is set to be the lead spinner in the GT Playing 11. One of the best spinners in the world, Rashid picked up 10 wickets in the last season and will be eyeing a better show this year. He is also a handy batsman and will be looking to contribute with the bat as well.

GT have a formidable pace lineup. South Africa star Kagiso Rabada will be leading the pace attack with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna being the other fast-bowlers in the team.
