After India restricted Zimbabwe to a total of 152 runs, it was expected that it would be a tough challenge for them to chase, but it turned out to be a cakewalk for the team. And the major credit for that goes to Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Skipper Shubman Gill struggled at the start with his timing but Yashasvi Jaiswal on the other end looked unfazed by it. The left-hander played a brutal innings at the top and took attack to the bowlers right from the start to take his team off to a flying start.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who joined the team in the third game, made sure he made a huge impact in the very next innings. The batter played a match-winning innings and helped India dominate the game and win the game by 10 wickets to take an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the five-match T20I series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal ended with an innings of unbeaten 93 runs off 53 balls. He looked all set for a sensational ton but Shubman Gill at the other end finished the game. He along with the skipper added 156 runs. The young opener had a strike rate of over 175 and slammed 13 fours and 2 sixes.

He while talking about his plans said that he wanted to take the bowlers on but thought of building the innings. Speaking after the win, he stated:

“I really enjoyed my batting today. I had my plans for different bowlers. The ball was coming on when it was new and as it got old, it was quite slow.

“I enjoyed batting with Shubman. Initially, I was thinking to take on the bowlers and as the innings progressed, I thought how to build the innings and stay till the end.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal will be next seen in action when India will take on Zimbabwe in the third game. The match between the teams will take place on Sunday (14th July) at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
