India captain Rohit Sharma is going through some bad form right now. Rohit has been constantly struggling for runs for the past few months and has also been criticized for his debatable captaincy decisions.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Harbhajan Singh are two players who have played with Rohit during some stages of their career. Both of them know Rohit well and have also backed him to come good in the ongoing series.

Both Pujara and Harbhajan were asked about Rohit Sharma's poor form and both of them shared the same views that his batting form is affecting his captaincy as well. Both of them hope for Rohit to get back amongst the runs which will also have a positive impact on his captaincy.

Cheteshwar Pujara on Rohit Sharma's poor form

While speaking to Star Sports, Cheteshwar Pujara was asked about Rohit Sharma as a captain and batter. Pujara hoped for Rohit to be back in form and believed that it would help him in the captaincy.

"Firstly, I would want Rohit Sharma to come back into form as soon as possible because when he will make runs, you will see the difference in his captaincy," Pujara said.

"Whenever a captain is out of form in batting, then it leaves an impact on the captaincy as well. I feel that whenever he will score runs, it will have a positive impact on his captaincy as well," he added.

Further speaking, Pujara opined that Rohit Sharma knows how to get runs since he is experienced enough. He feels that the start will be important for the Indian captain and if he manages to get a good start with the bat, he can convert it into a big one.

"Rohit Sharma is an experienced player. He knows how to get runs. He is going through bad form right now. But the start will be important for him. If he gets the initial 20-30 runs, then he can capitalize his start to convert it into a big one. Hopefully, he bats well in the first half an hour whenever he comes out to bat," Pujara concluded.

Runs will help him Rohit Sharma to take better decisions - Harbhajan Singh

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh also had the same opinion as he too wants Rohit Sharma to be amongst the runs. The former India offspinner reckons that a player is always worried about his own performance and the runs will help Rohit to make better decisions on the field.

"I would want Rohit Sharma the captain to score runs. When the runs will be scored, he will think in a better way and will do a lot better things. Any player in the world is always worried if he is not performing well," Harbhajan noted.

"If a player scores runs or takes wickets, then he takes better decisions. So, let's hope that Rohit Sharma scores runs so that he does well as a captain," he added.

Rohit Sharma's poor form continued in Adelaide

Rohit Sharma's poor form has continued from the disappointing home Test season in which he had plenty of low scores against Bangladesh and New Zealand. In three Tests against New Zealand, he scored 91 runs in three Tests at an average of 15.16.

In the recent Test at Adelaide, he scored just 3 and 6 across two innings of the match. The Indian captain looked all at sea while batting out of his position at No. 6.
