Harbhajan Singh indirectly attacks MS Dhoni, defends Rohit Sharma's SCG Test move: 'Farak hai bande mein'

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took a brutal dig at MS Dhoni as he lauded Team India skipper Rohit Sharma for his call to drop himself for the ongoing Test against Australia. He, while taking a jibe at Dhoni, said that no skipper did this despite losing the series again and again in overseas conditions.

India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit took a massive call for the team in the ongoing fifth Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney and is also the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Rohit Sharma admitted that he tried all the things, but didn't work in his favour, and hence, he decided to drop himself

Rohit spoke to the media on Day Two of the ongoing match and said that he stood down for the team. He admitted that he tried all the things, but it didn't work in his favor, and hence, he decided to drop himself for the ongoing game and handed leadership to Jasprit Bumrah.

After Rohit was dropped from the team, Harbhajan Singh shared his take on the same but the former India National Cricket Team batter was called out by the fan on social media. He said that the cricketer-turned-commentator shouldn't share his judgment because he slapped Sreesanth in a game.

The fan added that Harbhajan Singh failed in creating the narrative that Rohit opted out of the match. He stated that everyone knows that the India National Cricket Team skipper was dropped because he failed to score runs with the bat. The fan said:

"You are the same guy who slapped Sreesanth in a game, please spare us from your judgement of who is good and who is bad. This team doesn’t belong to Mr. Gurunath Sharma, and his son will keep playing despite his negative contribution.

You failed in creating the narrative of “opt-out” as the entire cricketing fraternity knows that Rohit Sharma has been dropped due to non-performance and spoiling team atmosphere."

Harbhajan Singh lauds Rohit Sharma for his decision, slams the fan

However, this didn't go well with Harbhajan Singh as he lashed out at the fan, saying that he should listen to his and Sharma’s interview before saying anything. He also applauded Rohit Sharma while taking a dig at MS Dhoni. He stressed:

What he has done None Indian captain ever thought of despite of loosing series after series Abroad and without scoring runs. Fark hai bandhe mai. He is a Leader. Well done Rohit Sharma. Rohit's decision to drop himself came on the back of poor scores in the Test series. The batter has failed to get going in the last few games and hence allowed Shubman Gill to take the spot in the team. It remains to be seen what will be his future in Tests.
