Harbhajan Singh regrets insulting Babar Azam on air, claims ex-Pakistan cricketer as he reveals details of private chat

Babar Azam, the Pakistan captain has been having a tough time in the last month or so. He was reinstated as the Pakistan national team captain ahead of the T20 World Cup. However, his own performance and the performance of the team were not up to the mark in the ICC event. 

After Pakistan's exit from the ICC T20 World Cup, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi spoke about the team requiring a "major surgery" but made a U-turn on his comments. He further said that the decision on Babar's captaincy in the future is yet to be taken. 

In one of his recent interactions with the local Pakistani media, the PCB chief said that the National team and the board are now focusing on hosting the ICC Champions Trophy properly next year. He also seemed very confident about the Indian team's likely visit to the country to play in the tournament. 

Meanwhile, as per reports, India will play all their matches in Lahore. India will play Pakistan on March 1. Pakistan are scheduled to host the Champions Trophy 2025 from February 19 to March 9 next year. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already sent out an official draft of the schedule of the tournament to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

However, there is no update yet from the government on whether they will allow the Indian team to travel to Pakistan to play in the tournament. According to a report, India are unlikely to travel to Pakistan, but the final call on the team's travel will be taken by the central government.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh trolling Babar Azam for his comparison with Brian Lara is a news that has been doing the rounds in the media. A clip of Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh went viral on social media, where they burst into laughter when asked to choose between Brian Lara and Babar Azam. The clip is said to be from Star Sports' Caught & Bold show. 

Sympathising with Babar Azam, former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has lent his support to the Pakistan skipper saying that Harbhajan himself has apologized for the things he said to the Pakistan skipper asserting that those things should not have been discussed in the media.

"Our chat was regarding Babar Azam. Babar no doubt is the number one batsman of Pakistan currently, and has scored the most hundreds for Pakistan in T20I cricket. There is no doubt that Babar's and Brian Lara's classes do not match and all and the two should never be compared. But as cricketers, we shouldn't compare them even for fun. This is the discussion we had and he too felt that he should not have said the things that he did", said Akmal in the video posted by a Geo News journalist.
