Harbhajan Singh Slams Indian Selectors For Not Picking These 2 Players

Harbhajan Singh was fuming on social media on November 9, 2021, after India A squad for the South Africa tour was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Harbhajan was not happy with the selectors ignoring two players in Sheldon Jackson and Mandeep Singh despite their domestic performances.

Sheldon Jackson and Mandeep Singh have been consistent performers for their respective sides with Jackson showing a great appetite for runs. Jackson, who returned to Saurashtra for this upcoming season, has a very good record when it comes to FC matches.

However, Harbhajan Singh was not happy with the selectors ignoring both of them for the India A team which will tour South Africa for three 4-day games which begin on November 23 in Bloemfontein.

“Ranji season 2018/19 scored 854 and 2019/2020 scored 809 and also Ranji champion that year plus this year current form👇yet not getting picked even for India A team.can 🇮🇳selector tell him what else he need to do to ply for india apart from scoring runs #shame @ShelJackson27,” Harbhajan Singh posted on Twitter.

The other player that Harbhajan Singh was not happy with being ignored for India A tour of South Africa was his Punjab statemate, Mandeep Singh. The 29-year-old has actually played for India, as he appeared in three T20I matches in 2016 when India toured Zimbabwe.

Mandeep Singh also has an excellent record in FC games and has been part of the India A team regularly in past. In 78 FC matches, Mandeep has 5316 runs at an average of 47.46. His highest score has been 235 and he has hit 13 centuries and 28 half-centuries.

Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and said that Mandeep has not gotten his dues for his performances and the selectors needed to check out the domestic records while picking the squad.

“Another top player not getting his dues @mandeeps12 forget team India not even in India A.selectors need to see some domestic matches records or else what’s th point having Ranji seasons.check his stats 👇last domestic season played.due to corona no cricket in 20/21 #shocking,” Harbhajan tweeted.
