Hardik Pandya Leapfrogs Sachin Tendulkar In The All-Time IPL Highest Earners List

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s rise from being just another cricketer to an elite player at the International level is a perfect rag to riches story; one that is symbolic of the fact that no matter what your situation is and where you come from if you have the will and determination to succeed.

From finding no takers in the 2014 IPL auctions to become one of the highest-paid cricketers to ever feature in the cash-rich league, Hardik Pandya has come a long way within the space of the last seven years.

And, now the charismatic cricketer has leapfrogged Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in the list of top-earners in IPL history. With a total income of Rs 44.3 Crores, Hardik now sits at the 33rd spot in the all-time list.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who featured in the IPL between 2008-13, finished his IPL career with a total salary of Rs 38.29 Crore.

Coming back to Hardik Pandya, the Baroda cricketer’s journey started in the 2015 auction where he was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for a sum of Rs 10 Lakh.

Following brilliant performances in what was a title-clinching season for the Mumbai Indians, Hardik earned a place in the national T20 team in early 2016.

And, by the time 2018 rolled around his salary had skyrocketed to Rs 11 Crore after he was retained by the franchise.

Hardik Pandya remains one of the vital cogs for the Mumbai Indians. In the last season, he, along with Kieron Pollard was instrumental in providing the finishing touches to their batting performances courtesy whirlwind hitting at the death.

Speaking of his numbers, Hardik has thus far featured in 80 IPL games, in which he has scored 1349 runs at a strike-rate of 159.27 besides claiming 42 wickets at 31.26.
