Superstar India all-rounder, Hardik Pandya has posted a heartfelt video on social media to pay tribute to his and his brother, Krunal Pandya’s late father, Himanshu Pandya who had passed away last week due to a cardiac arrest. Hardik and Krunal have often revealed the sacrifices their father has made, including shifting from one city to another, so that the duo can play cricket and fulfil their dreams.
Hardik titled the video, which is a collage of memories of the family, as ‘To Dad (with a heart emoji)’. The song “Apne To Apne Hote Hain” from the Bollywood movie ‘Apne’ is played in the background which expresses Hardik’s pain of losing his old man and love for the family.

The video has images from Hardik and Krunal’s childhood with their father. It also contains a clip where Bollywood’s megastar, Amitabh Bachchan is seen congratulating Himanshi Pandya for the success of his sons. There is another clip as well where the Baroda all-rounders are gifting their father a brand new car.

Hardik Pandya returns to the Test squad
India will host England for a four-match Test series starting on 5th February. The selectors have announced the squad for the first two Tests which will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Apart from the return of captain, Virat Kohli, who missed the last three Tests in Australia, the notable inclusion is that of Hardik Pandya in the Test squad. Hardik Pandya has not donned the whites for India since the 2018 England tour.

The 27-year-old has had bouts with several injuries and is not allowed to bowl. He didn’t bowl a single ball during the IPL 2020 playing for the Mumbai Indians – he was thunderous with the bat helping the franchise win their fifth title.
He played all the 6 white-ball matches in Australia. Hardik was called on to bowl a few overs in the 2nd ODI when Steve Smith and the rest of the Aussie batsmen were hammering all the bowlers. However, Hardik Pandya bowled slower compared to his normal speeds with a doctored action. The swashbuckling right-hander was awarded the Man of the Series in the T20I series which India won 2-1.
India squad for first two Tests: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-captain), KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Md. Siraj, Shardul Thakur.
