Hardik Pandya’s ‘aura-farming’ video after dismissing Sahibzada Farhan becomes internet sensation
PC: X

Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, is widely known for being one of the most stylish players in the history of cricket. A similar kind of aura farming was witnessed when he picked the wicket of Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan.

India were pushed to bat first by the archrivals Pakistan, and Ishan Kishan stepped up for the Indian side with the bat, contributing significantly. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube operated well through the middle phase, and Rinku Singh provided a strong finish to the Indian innings.

However, India's major contributor against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya, failed to play a stunning hand with the bat, as he was dismissed on the very first ball, trying to take down Saim Ayub with a massive hit over Long off. He was caught much short of the boundary, as the pitch offered a slow pace and the boundaries were wide enough to be cleared.

Hardik Pandya's 'aura-farming' video goes viral

Hardik Pandya might have missed his chance with the bat, but he excelled as he took up the new ball alongside veteran paceman Jasprit Bumrah. Pandya delivered in the very first over of the game and dismissed the Pakistan opener for a duck.

Pandya rushed in and pulled his length back, landing it around the off-stump line. Farhan, who was under immense pressure, looked to pull it over the mid-wicket region after having played three dot balls into the innings. The ball was top-edged, and the leading edge was caught at mid-on by the safe pair of hands from Rinku Singh.

What caught the internet's attention was that Pandya saw the ball being top-edged but did not have a look at it to check on the catch being completed, and instead continued to walk down the pitch with his chest widened with pride. He eventually celebrated his wicket as Ishan Kishan ran towards him.

Sahibzada Farhan exposed after "All talk and no show" in the India game

Sahibzada Farhan was all words before the India clash. He was Pakistan's best man on show against the USA and also scored two half-centuries against India in the Asia Cup. Farhan had also warned the Indian team, saying Pakistan would go in with the same mentality as they had during the past matches.

However, the opener has been proven as an "All talk and no show" candidate, much like the reputation of several Pakistanis against India. After having made so many promises and warnings, Farhan got out for a four-ball duck, much like India's Abhishek Sharma.

Indian bowlers shine

India started with Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah in the powerplay and bowled four overs with them. Hardik picked a wicket in his first over, which also ended in a maiden. Jasprit Bumrah was unfortunate as the edges flew off for sixes and fours in his first over; however, he tricked them with some spectacular deliveries.

Bumrah bowled a toe-crusher to dismiss Saim Ayub and then a slower delivery to send back the Pakistani skipper. Hardik later finished the innings with the dismissal of Usman Tariq. Alongside Hardik Pandya and Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy picked up two wickets each.

Tilak Varma, the part-timer and Kuldeep Yadav picked a wicket each. Axar's wickets remained the most crucial in the game, which comprised the wickets of Babar Azam and Usman Khan.
