Pakistan could be without their star bowler Haris Rauf for the do-or-die clash against England in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The Men in Green will lock horns against the reigning champions in their last league game.

Currently, at the fifth spot in the points table, Pakistan is still alive in the tournament. However, their fate is not in their hands anymore. The Babar Azam-led side can finish with a maximum of ten points if they beat England. Even in that case, they will have to depend on other results to book a place in the semifinals of an ODI World Cup for the first time since 2011. On the other hand, a loss will very much end their journey at the league stage.

Haris Rauf is doubtful for the England game:

As Pakistan gears up for the huge clash, Haris Rauf is facing an injury concern. The right-arm pacer had to leave the field during the match against New Zealand last week due to a potential rib sprain. Recently, he underwent tests at a local hospital in Kolkata after complaining of discomfort in his ribs, according to Cricket Pakistan.

He is now in a race against time to be fit for the game. The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday (November 11) and the Pakistan team management would be hoping that Haris Rauf recovers in time. While the pacer has not really managed to do well in the competition so far, he does have the ability to change the course of a game in a matter of few deliveries.

Things have just not worked out for the bowler in the World Cup so far. He entered the competition as one of the best white-ball bowlers in the world but has failed to live up to the expectations. In eight games so far, he has picked up 13 wickets but has conceded 469 runs at an economy rate of almost 7. His performance against tougher opposition is also a matter of concern for Pakistan.
