The England National Cricket Team vice-captain Harry Brook has become the talk of the town following his bizarre remark in which he blamed the 'smog' in Kolkata for his failure with the bat against India National Cricket Team.

Now, Ravichandran Ashwin has taken some time out to give a cricketing lesson to Harry Brook for his 'smog' excuse and offered him tips to deal with the threat of the mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy.

Harry Brook clueless against Varun Chakravarthy

Brook failed to live up to the hype in the Kolkata T20I after being appointed as the vice-captain of the England white-ball team. He only managed to score 17 runs off 14 balls before being bowled by a wrong'un from Varun Chakravarthy.

After the match, the batter spoke to the media, where he labeled Chakravarthy as 'exceptionally good' and a 'tough to pick' bowler. However, he also claimed that there was a lot of smog in Kolkata, which made things even harder for him while facing the mystery spinner, and he is hopeful of air being 'a bit clearer' in following matches.

As the action moved to the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, there was no sign of smog, but Brook's performance didn't improve as he scored only 13 runs before Varun Chakravarthy rattled his stumps with a brilliant delivery.

Following his back-to-back failures, Harry Brook has faced heavy criticism from fans as well as former cricketers from India and England for blaming smog for his struggles.

I just want to tell one thing to Harry Brook.... - Ravichandran Ashwin

The legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also now shared his views on the comment made by Brook.

In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Ash Ki Baat, Ravichandran Ashwin highlighted there was no smog in Chennai and gave him crucial advice to end his struggles against Chakravarthy. He stated:

"There was no smog in Chennai. So, Harry Brook said he got out because of smog at Eden Gardens. I just want to tell one thing to Harry Brook - 'Harry Brook, keep this thing in mind that Varun Chakravarthy does not bowl leg-spin much, his main strength is googlies only.'"

It doesn't matter how the light is - Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin further spoke about Harry Brook's inability to read the googly of Varun Chakravarthy, which led to his stumps being shattered

Ashwin advised Brook to see the spinner's hand properly to get an idea of the delivery before playing shots instead of blaming light or smog for his dismissal. He elaborated:

"Brook moved towards the leg stump and got bowled out at Eden Gardens. Again, he covered the stumps and went on the front foot, he did not read the googly and lost his stumps in Chennai.

"If you see his hand, you can read the googly. It doesn't matter how the light is, if you don't see the googly coming, you won't be able to play it."
