English people have been hardcore cricket and football fans. Both teams from their respective sports have done well and gathered a lot of attention. England National Football Team captain Harry Kane is also known as a supporter of cricket and Virat Kohli. The two share a special bond and the footballer supports Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL because of Kohli.

Harry Kane has often been spotted playing cricket with his other teammates. He was first spotted playing the game back during his days at Tottenham Hotspur and recently during the break and training session of the FIFA World Cup 2026; he, alongside his England teammates, was playing the game. This portrays his love for the game outside football.

"I have a special relationship with the fans in India": Harry Kane on his relationship with cricket fans in India

Harry Kane recently won another trophy with FC Bayern Munich as they defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to lift the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at the Signal Iduna Park. After the win, while speaking with NDTV in Germany, the England football captain stated that he shares a special relationship with India, thanked all the fans for their support, and also revealed that he is a big IPL fan.

"Thank you very much. You know, I think I have a special relationship with the fans in India. I appreciate all their support. Would love to go out there one day. They know I'm a big IPL fan as well, so I would love to do that. But yeah, as always, appreciate the fans all around the world, and yeah, thank you for all the support in India," Kane told NDTV in Germany.

Harry Kane is an RCB fan

Back in June 2026, Kane made a humorous post on social media offering his services to England Cricket and IPL champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The English footballers swapped the training pitch for a cricket field during a team bonding session ahead of the World Cup.

Kane was among the players who enjoyed the game the most and later shared multiple photos of himself playing cricket on social media. “Always ready if needed, @englandcricket & @RCBTweets!” Kane wrote on X, as he got funny reactions from both football and cricket fans around the world.

Virat Kohli and Harry Kane's relationship

Back in 2019, after the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in England, Kohli met Kane in England. The two shared a special bond as the then Indian captain wished the English captain luck for the final of the UEFA Champions League. The two even played a match where they had a brilliant time off their regular time.

Virat, after watching Harry Kane play, said: "he is much better at cricket than I am at football." The two swapped their jerseys, as Kane at that time was playing in the English Premier League for Tottenham.

Post that meeting, RCB have become champions of the IPL twice, as they won it last year, becoming the third team to win consecutive IPL trophies. Currently, Virat has been spending his off days as India will play West Indies in September for a three-match ODI series.
