Harshit Rana EXPOSES Gautam Gambhir’s ruthless warning: "Perform kar, warna..."

The 23-year-old India National Cricket Team pacer Harshit Rana's childhood coach, Shravan, has revealed that the youngster received a ruthless warning from the head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Shravan stated that the head coach, Gautam Gambhir, bluntly told Harshit Rana to step up his game and deliver good performances, or he would be ruthlessly kicked out of the team.

The youngster has become the talk of the town mainly because of receiving unprecedented backing from the Gautam Gambhir-led team management and the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee.

Harshit Rana is currently among the very few all-format players in Indian cricket, and he is part of every squad - even though he doesn't get to play all the games.

This has led to the pacer being accused of being picked solely based on favoritism, as he had spent time with head coach Gautam Gambhir at the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and shares a good bond with him.

However, the pacer finally managed to shut down the critics with his performance as he bowled magnificently in the third and final ODI against Australia in Sydney. Rana returned with the figures of 4/39, which was his best-ever across formats and played a key role in India's win.

In a recent interaction, Rana's childhood coach, Shravan, stated that the pacer receives backing from Gautam Gambhir because he has the talent. He also revealed that Gambhir issued a strict warning to the pacer to improve his performance.

"He (Harshit) called me and told me that he wanted to shut the outside noise with his performance. I just said, believe in yourself. I know some cricketers say he is close to Gambhir.

"But Gambhir knows how to identify talent, and he backs them. He has backed a lot of cricketers, and they have done wonders for their team. He in fact scolded Harshit badly. He told him directly, ‘perform kar, warna bahar bitha dunga.’ (Perform well, otherwise I will keep you on the bench). He sends a clear message to whoever you are," Shravan told The Times of India.

Shravan also lashed out at the former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth for taking vile digs at Rana just to gain some views on his YouTube channel.

"Rana is 23. Let's give him some time. First Krishnamachari Srikkanth took the case of this kid. After retirements, cricketers have started their YouTube channels to earn, but please don’t scrutinise any kid who just started.

"They have the right to guide, scold, but please don’t say anything for your YouTube channel’s visibility," Rana's childhood coach added.
